“The Strength I Have is the Strength I Am: Dedicated to the Survivors of Hurricane Dorian”

The strength I have is the strength I am.

My Faith is steadfast, yet it surrounds me in waves.

When it’s courage I need, it finds me and leaves me amazed.

There are days when I cry in despair.

Yet when those days arise, I say to myself…”push forward with care”.

The strength I have is the strength I am.

Imagine disasters unforeseen.

Imagine dreams crumbled and lean.

With God’s abiding love,

I withstand life’s whirls.

With God’s whisper’s of hope,

I endure nature’s hurls.

The strength I have is the strength I am.

When destruction is all that is visible…I use a spiritual lens and see possibility.

When hurt and pain are gnawing at body and soul…I leap into the arms of peace and seek liberty.

The strength I have is the strength I am.

God’s mercy shields and protects me. God’s love strengthens and uplifts me.

The grace God gives is the strength I have and within His love is the strength I am.

The strength I have is the strength I am.

This poem is dedicated with love to the survivors of Hurricane Dorian.
